CRS INITIATE SAFETY PATROLS AT THE RIVER LAGAN

Following a planning process that began in late 2011, the CRS tonight began safety patrols in the area around the River Lagan in Belfast City Centre. This is the first step in an ongoing process to provide assistance to those in difficulty in that area. The CRS Belfast Unit is currently leading the way in providing this service in support of the police and other emergency services with the support of CRS members from around the province. How Your Money Helps:

Community Rescue Service needs donations to allow us to keep on providing our support services and training programmes and equipment for our highly trained and dedicated volunteers.

Your support will help fund all types of search and rescue equipment and it will also help maintain our search and rescue vehicles and boats to ensure that our volunteers can respond rapidly to all types of call-outs.

The following are some examples of the type of equipment your money would buy:

  • Torches and batteries to allow our volunteers to search effectively in dark conditions.
  • High Visibility clothing to ensure our volunteers are clearly seen
  • Waterproof clothing to ensure our volunteers can work in all weather conditions
  • Life Vests for river searchers and for our boat crews

These are just some ways in which your money helps the Community Rescue Service, it is through your support that we are able to make a difference
